Brødregade in Randers is a good shopping street.

Being an international student in Randers is not all work and no play. There are lots of opportunities for sports and leisure activities in the town itself and the surrounding area.

Shopping
Whether you are looking for small specialist stores or larger department stores you will find it in Randers. Randers Storcenter, the largest shopping mall in town, is situated just next to Dania - Danish Academy of Business and Technology.

Sport and leisure
There are a wide range of sporting activities to enjoy in Randers. In and around town you can find facilities for football, aerobics, badminton, tennis, handball, swimming, shooting or motor cross, just to mention a few. A good way to meet the Danes is to enter one of the local sport clubs. Randers is situated on Denmark's largest river Gudenåen, so if you are into outdoor activities like angling, canoeing or walking in beautiful scenery, opportunities abound.

Nightlife
In the city centre you find a wide variety restaurants, cafes, and bars, most of them within walking distance of each other. Here you can enjoy a warm cappuccino, a cold draught beer, a fancy drink or hot live music – whatever suits your taste and budget. Music and arts
You will find a good choice of libraries, theatres, cinemas, museums and art galleries in Randers. Værket, the old city power station, which has been transformed into a centre for the performing arts, is the place to go for opera, concerts, theatre plays and much more. The Randers Festival which takes place every year in early August, is a week filled with events and entertainment featuring all kinds of live music.

Tourist attractions
The most famous tourist attraction in Randers is the Rain Forest where you can explore tropical plants and animals in the three domes representing Asia, Africa and South America. Other attractions include the Elvis Presley Museum and the business and cultural centre Underværket.

Founded 700 years ago, Randers also has a well-preserved medieval town centre where you find several buildings and churches from the 15th and 16th centuries.
